Orchard Park Fire host 2014 RecuitNY recruitment drive and open house

Today, the Orchard Park Fire Company hosted a open house and took part in a 2nd annual statewide recruitment drive called "RecruitNY". Firefighters filled the station Sunday, manning stations for trying on gear, advancing hose lines, swinging tools, tours of trucks and our hall. At 1pm, a large crowd of spectators and newly signed up recruits watched firefighters quickly cut apart a car using the "Jaws of Life"! At the end of the day, we received a record number of new applicants, 19! We would like to thank everyone for their hard work and dedication for helping throughout day! We would like to thank the public for all the support and attendance to this very successful event! Also, a very special thanks to Lake Erie Towing and Recovery of Hamburg, NY for donating the vehicle for our firefighters to demonstrate the vehicle extrication! We would also like to thank The Community Network _for donating_advertisement space to the Orchard Park Fire Company on their digital boards throughout the Town of Orchard Park!
