This afternoon, the Orchard Park Fire Company, as well as Hillcrest Fire were dispatched mutual aid to West Falls Fire on Falls Rd, for a rope rescue. Upon arrival, crews found a woman and a dog approximately_100 feet down a ravine.
Crews sent a rescuer down to locate the exact position of the victim and the dog, while other crews set up an additional rope rescue system. We were able to secure the dog and the victim in a harness and raise them back up to safety. The dog and the victim were both uninjured. Holland Fire also responded and assisted with their ATV for moving equipment and personnel to the scene. The Orchard Park Fire District Rope Rescue has been very active in the past few weeks, who has had_4 rope rescues in the past month.
