Tonight, Firefighters receive training on how to deal with the unique situation of Man Vs. Machine. Crews learned multiple way, destructive and non-destructive techniques to remove rings from fingers. Crews also learned how to safely remove a hand from a small grinder as well as extrication from an impalement injury. We also had the opportunity to have 3 old snowblowers tonight for crews to learn how to properly disable, disassemble, and cut out an extremity. The Orchard Park Fire Company would like to thank all who have made donations to us, as this drill would not have been possible tonight without you! With your donations, the Fire Company was able to purchase a new Right Angle Grinder, as well as having the proper materials and props tonight to make this possible!
