Tonight, Firefighters from across the whole Orchard Park Fire District participated in drill going over our District Ice Water Rescue Team equipment and refreshed Ice Water Rescue Technicians on the proper use of the equipment as well as rescue techniques. Interested Firefighters who have not completed the training were also able to participate, donning the Dry-Suits, learning the basics of Ice Water Rescue and what can be done by them. We also sparked some interested in getting other Firefighters who have not yet taken the training, to take the training, and get them to take the plunge into the frozen water!
